Hello, welcome to Radio Albatros Belgium

In the 1980s the phenomenon free radio emerged in Belgium . So also in our town Asse near Brussels, the heart of Europe.
Our little commune counted 7 local radios that got started, including two radios playing with such power that they were broadcasting on national base and even outside the Belgian borders.
And then there was also Radio Albatros, a warm circle of friends that played music day in and day out for his many listeners, who regularly stopped by to say hello in our broadcasting studios or called  us by the phone.
Radio Albatros played lot of music from the 1960s and 1970s, both Dutch and English. We got a lot of requests of listeners, and in the Albatros café there where many talks about how Radio Albatros would evolve further.
But times change, soon the FM radios will disappear and then what? Don't worry, new techniques such as DAB, DAB + and internet radio come at the horizon.
We therefore could not stand still, the idea of internet Radio Albatros Belgium was born. And a number of producers of the past were immediately enthusiastic.
It started with the digitization of 45 rpm records and CD's. That way was we built up a large digital radio archive.
Radio Albatros Belgium began to take shape, and in this way can you now still listen to the music that was brought by local radio Albatros in the 80s.
